So, saw a blurb on participatory medicine tonight…. an actual journal devoted to it! It got me thinking, as I sifted through different topics on Wikipedia, a source that thanks to the many scholarly contributions, is more expansive in many aspects than our trusted Britannica. Now, participatory medicine, as I understood the introduction, is largely about people taking charge of their health more, with the help of professionals. It is up to professionals to put the correct information in the hands of the masses, who too often get incorrect information on the internet. I thought myself potentially brilliant for thinking of WikiMedica, so I Google’d it….and turns out that some medical student had a similar, albeit self-serving, idea about it….
