Warp Speed Ahead!

To emphasize the reality of the post below….I wrote it on the 8th and just discovered my draft, 10 days later. Sigh…. I think I know now why I got sick!

Life has been more than a little crazy lately. It’s that dang boomerang effect again. You set things in motion, wait in limbo while things are brewing, and then WHAM! It all hits you at once. Money, job, career, physical, psychological, emotional, family, more family, and it’s all on a tight schedule. Thankfully, I am not alone. Tom Lescher, a Leo astrologer I met recently, does his weekly Pele Report on YouTube. I highly recommend it. His forecast for March sounds spot on with what I am dealing with:

The month of March will be a lot easier for you if you just pretend that you have boarded the high-speed bullet train that gets you to your destination at hundreds of miles per hour (whether you are late or not!). This is a month where our nervous systems are undergoing a great cosmic cleanse. It is an opportunity to rid ourselves of all the shaky, old, outworn mental patterns that are no longer serving us. Beyond that, we will have an opportunity to purge immature emotional patterns lingering from lifetimes gone by that are preventing us from fully realizing our potential.

I love his humor, and it seems I will need it this month. All kinds of past stuff is bubbling up, and I have to find a way to let it go and redefine how I live in the world. It’s kind of like being told you have wings, being thrown off a cliff, and trusting that you will know how to fly. Like the Phoenix, I want to die and rise from the ashes anew, pure like I came into this world.

Hand In Hand

This is not only unexpected, but the dancers are extremely well trained. The male would have to be in order to complete these moves and gestures. It’s quite beautiful

Dance of Desire

I have recently decided to dance more, express myself more, and play with movement, so I have been watching more dance videos and the like, drooling over the strength and fluidity some of these people have. Check out these folks:

This one gets me every time.

To my love, Nick , you know it’s true.

Less IS More

Some random thoughts about what’s REALLY important.

  • comparing an Anusara style yoga class taken recently to a Bikram class, I realize how much the all-inclusiveness of Anusara speaks more to me and makes me feel more at ease. My old hot yoga/Vinyasa flow classes also gave me more peace at mind. The workout you get with Bikram is great, but I don’t feel as well-rounded emotionally and spiritually afterward.
  • I saw a video on YouTube about a woman in New York living in a 90-sq-ft apartment, and loving it. She has made it quite livable. I used to live in the same size or smaller when I was in San Francisco, and you get used to it. You learn to organize things so that stuff isn’t lying out everywhere. I think that is one reason I am a compulsive organizer now, even with plenty of space. I moved to Boston in my 2-door, 3-cylinder Geo Metro, and all my belongings fit in that car. I am coming back to that bit by bit, getting rid of excess and only buying what I need.
  • After going to the Hawaii State Rural Health Association meeting yesterday and talking about retention in rural areas, and then interviewing a candidate for residency who is from Hawaii, FIT becomes an even bigger issue. Maybe the applicant hasn’t DONE as much as others, but they already have a one-up on us haoles (foreigners), since they can speak to the locals in their own “language”. They are also dedicated to their community, because they usually plan on staying.
  • I find it amazing that society puts so much importance on surface things. We are so intent on immediate gratification and the sense of Having NOW, that we no longer live in the NOW. We are always thinking about the next thing. Being in the moment is sacred and something to strive for in our daily lives.

What’s on my mind

That’s not how you roll it!

No need to write all the time. Here are some videos for your enjoyment. These are some FUNNY cats!
